Why ICL?

Our Visian® ICL lenses from STAAR® Surgical are made of the biocompatible material called "Collamer" - a combination of “collagen” and “polymer", which works in natural harmony with your eye and body.
Suitable for Thin Corneas
Many patients are turned away from laser vision correction surgery because of their thin corneas. Fortunately, as ICL does not involve the cornea, having thin corneas is no issue.
Suitable for High Myopia and Astigmatism
Unlike with laser vision correction procedures, ICL is able to correct high refractive errors, with up to 1,800 degrees of myopia and 600 degrees of astigmatism being correctable.
Minimally Invasive Surgery
The ICL procedure is minimally invasive, with the flexible collamer lens being inserted through a 2 - 3 mm micro-incision.
Quick Surgery and Recovery
The procedure takes only 20 - 30 minutes, and is completely painless. Patients will be able to resume daily activities in just 2 -3 days!
No Corneal Tissue Removed
Unlike with most laser vision correction procedures, ICL surgery does not remove corneal tissue, thus allowing for any future corneal procedures needed.
Protection from UV Rays
Our collamer ICL lenses have UV protective properties that will protect your eyes from harmful UV rays.
Suitable for Dry Eyes
As ICL surgery does not involve the cutting of the cornea or removal of any corneal cells, the cornea's nerve endings remain untouched and the eye's lubricating functions unaffected.
A Removable Option
If your prescription changes or new vision options become available, the ICL lens can simply be removed and replaced.
Good Night Vision
Many ICL patients observe good night vision - there is a lower incidence of seeing haloes and starbursts at night as compared to laser vision correction patients who had high myopia.

The ICL evaluation costs $163.50 and will take around 1 – 2 hours.
It will include a series of eye tests as well as a personal consultation with your lasik surgeon.
